Take The Cannoli is a very interesting book. Sarah Vowell likes to express herself through humor in this book. She’s sharing with us how her family but mainly her twin sister and her father are border line obsessed with explosives and firearms. Sarah was never the type to like guns. She “rebukes thee.” Sarah was the type of girl who was inspired by the finer things in life such as music. She’s a music fanatic, she plays instruments. That one thing that Sarah and I have in common. While Sarah uses her hand to make a beautiful melody I use my voice as an instrument. Singing takes you away from all your problems and that was the technique that Sarah uses in this book! Her father has his own area for what he loves and so does Sarah! She has a tasteful craving for the arts.

Sarah and her family weren’t completely close until Sarah decided to be the “bigger person” in the situation and go with her father as he shoots his man made cannon. She would never have done this but she wanted a closer relationship with her father and that was just one thing she had to do to get to where she wanted to be with her father. While blowing cannons into the mountains of Montana a few bikers ran along and just stopped and looked at what they were doing. The biker was more impressed with all the nice equipment Sarah had because she was in the radio business so she brought her things along and realized that the love her father has for firearms she has for her art. She came to reality that she was just like her father.

I chose this book because it just appeared to be what I like reading. Anything that’s funny will keep my attention; if a book starts to get dry then I get bored with the text.
