When Sarah Vowell learns to drive in "Take the Cannoli", she takes on a new adventure in her life. I'd like to think that we're on an adventure right now. Most of us have moved away from home to come here. I have come all the way from Sacramento California. Everything about living in Chicago will be different from what I'm used to: big city, cold weather, huge population, etc. The adventure I'm on right now may not be epic enough for Herman Melville to write an allegorical novel about, but in my life it means a lot. My parents are very proud of me for doing this, and I'm proud of myself as well. Stepping out of your comfort zone is a difficult thing. Especially when cold weather is involved.
